Tiffen 67UVP Lens Protector

Best UV Protection Lens Filter - 2022 || Best Lens Protector and action camera protector

Description

a filter that is absolutely necessary to own. The Tiffen UVP is an affordable way to shield your digital camera lens from damage, dust, moisture, fingerprints, and scratches. You can always keep this filter on your camera lens.

When my son dropped the spotting scope, the previous one I had broke (from the bench to the ground). I'm relieved that the front lens was unbroken and not the old filter. It is what I would call "cheap insurance."

The filter is absolutely clear and fits perfectly. Ghosting is the only issue. Ghosting only occurs when directed at a source of light. Although it is not entirely eliminated, using a lens hood helps to lessen it. It's not a deal breaker for me; if the ghosting occurs frequently enough, I'll just have to remove it during a shot. If you actually stick to your budget, it's worth the cost.

  • Most popular protection filter
  • Provides basic reduction of ultraviolet light
  • Helps eliminate the bluish cast in images
  • 67 millimeters diameter

It is really effective and reasonably priced. I got it to shield my camera's lens. bought to cover the ultra-wide-angle zoom lens. Also thought about using a lens hood, but decided it was insufficiently long.

Pros

  • Amazing Quality
  • Strong Shield for Lens
  • Easy to Install

Cons

  • Not Multi-coated
  • Minor Focus Problem

Hoya Alpha MC UV Filter

Best UV Protection Lens Filter - 2022 || Best Lens Protector and action camera protector

Description:

UV rays are absorbed by the Hoya 82mm Alpha MC UV Filter, which can be left on the lens at all times to provide protection. The filter has multiple coatings (MC) to lessen reflections, flare, and ghosting. has a sturdy aluminum frame and optical glass of the highest caliber.

The filter came in a brand-new, unopened US retail box with no visible faults or scratches. Despite some reviews to the contrary, which worried me, the equipment I received appears to be great and should be able to keep my lens safe and clean.

On a Canon EF 70-300mm, f/4-5.6L IS USM lens, I'm using this filter. So far, it appears to be performing as promised, and I haven't noticed any ghosting as some other reviews have. I occasionally walk outside early and the filter fogs up, but only occasionally am I encountering the cleaning issues as others have mentioned. Other Hoya filters I own appear to be clean after only one wipe. This one requires two people, occasionally three. But to me, that is just a necessary evil of transitioning from the air-conditioned home to the muggy Florida morning air.

The only issue I have is that the case, or more specifically the inside flange that holds the filter in place, was fractured, rendering it essentially worthless for storing the filter. Again, no major deal because I often keep the filter on my lens. I have no way of knowing if this was damaged during shipping or if it left the seller in this condition.

It came in a sizable bubble-lined envelope for shipping. Although I wouldn't mention it and didn't to the seller, I occasionally store my filters in their cases because I believe the case to be a component of the product. I have a Cokin system in my collection, which is rather good.

  • Reduces haze and blur in outdoor photography by absorbing UV light
  • You can use the transparent filter with other filters because it lacks any additional coloration or contrast.
  • shields the front lens from scratches, moisture, and dust
  • Flare, ghosting, and reflections are decreased by multi-coating
  • constructed of optical glass and a precision milled aluminum frame.

Hoya appears to be quite hard to beat on this for the price. I still have a 1980s-era Hoya filter that's in excellent condition. It's what I anticipated and was for my digital. I don't know anything about solar flare or anything because I just use these with lens hoods. There hasn't been a drop in picture quality that I can see.

Pros

  • Multi-Coated Glass
  • No Pixel Reducing
  • Absorbing UV Light

Cons

  • Most Expensive

K&F Concept 86mm MC UV Protection Filter

Best UV Protection Lens Filter - 2022 || Best Lens Protector and action camera protector

Description:

The unusual fingerprint is easily removed because of the filter's exceptional clarity. Just enough texture is present on the filter's edge to make it easy for your fingertips to hold. Thankfully, there have been no drops or other issues to report with the lens protection so yet.

The filter is incredibly clear and easily threaded onto my camera lens. If the UV Filter ever needs to be removed for the installation of another filter, the case that it ships in has some protective foam inside of it as well. This bag has been placed right within the camera.

I wasn't expecting the K&F Concept UV filter, which surprised me. It is quite well built and excellent at blocking sunlight. I appreciate that my lens has an additional layer of protection when I'm out and about, and the improved quality of my outdoor photos.

I purchased this filter to replace one that broke while still attached to my lens earlier. This filter's sole purpose is to safeguard my lens, and it successfully accomplishes that.

  • Manufacturer of expert camera accessories
  • committed to offering high-quality items
  • absorbs the UV light that frequently causes outdoor photos to be fuzzy and unclear
  • This versatile, all-purpose filter can act as a long-term lens shield.
Over most filters, a pinch cap can be used. Every single one of my lenses has a filter attached to it. I used to use a lot of "conventional" lens caps on all of my old Nikkor lenses, but they were a real pain to put on and take off, so I decided to give a Pinch Cap a try. Then I changed EVERY lens to a pinch cap. Hope this was useful.

Pros

  • 18 Multi-Coatings
  • Slim Frame
  • All Size Available
  • Block Ultraviolet Rays

Cons

  • No Return

Amazon Basics UV Protection Lens Filter

Best UV Protection Lens Filter - 2022 || Best Lens Protector and action camera protector

Description:

I bought this just to protect the camera lens when I take artistic photos of water splashing, sparklers on fire, etc. I'd rather get splashes or grit on this than my lens. And it's fantastic for that. I don't think I'll leave it on my lens since I think that if you don't need something, you shouldn't use it. Extra glass merely adds another medium for light to pass through. But this is fine for when I need it.

The diameter of the inner and outer threads is the same (55mm in my case). This implies that you can mount this filter to a lens with a diameter of 55 mm and then layer another filter, like an ND or CPF, on top of it. However, because of the stacking of many filters, I occasionally noticed that some of my photos had what appeared to be a very small vignette ring around the edges. However, I was able to fix this by simply changing the camera position.

I only gave an extreme example. Otherwise, I was unable to identify any drawbacks of this UV filter! In light of how expensive and time-consuming lens repairs are, I would argue that using a lens shield for your DSLR is always an excellent idea. Additionally, a damaged lens is sad for a photographer (speaking from experience..). Given the cost, this UV filter would do an excellent job of protecting your lens and removing UV light from your photographs.

  • filter for regular, everyday use that blocks UV rays
  • reduces UV light and aids in removing the blue cast from photographs
  • shields the lens from debris, sand, and scratches.
  • Best protective filter for outdoor photography, most popular
  • features a diameter of 67mm.
In the future, I'll only buy these Amazon Basics filters. Save money and choose these. They fulfil all the requirements for safeguarding your lenses and giving you the opportunity to preserve part of the blue in that brilliant sky.

Pros

  • Easy To Install
  • Strong Shield for Lens
  • Affordable Price

Cons

  • Only Four Sizes are Available
